Abstract

Observations are made on the vegetation of a bog pond on the Avalon Peninsula of Newfoundland. A general description is given of the pond and surrounding district, as well as the results of a line transect across the encroaching mat. Some consideration is given to the relationship between the Avalon vegetation and that of the mainland. -- A record of Utricularia purpurea Walt. is reported for Newfoundland. -- A list is included of vascular plants and bryophytes collected from the margin, the mat, the bottom, and the open water.
