Report on Scholarly Communications at CAUL-CBUA Institutions

Abstract

This report was prepared for the Directors of the Council of Atlantic University Libraries/Conseil des bibliothèques universitaires de l’Atlantique by the CAUL/CBUA Scholarly Communications Committee. This report aims to provide CAUL/CBUA members with an overview of current scholarly communications activities at CAUL/CBUA institutions. Section C of this report (Results of the CAUL-CBUA Scholarly Communications Inventory) presents the overview of the results of our Scholarly Communications Inventory, in which we set out to assess the services and support for scholarly communications currently offered at each CAUL-CBUA institution. The report is also intended to familiarize CAUL/CBUA members with new trends in scholarly communications and open access publishing; to provide CAUL/CBUA members with practical information that can help them to implement and further develop scholarly communications services at their institutions; and to provide sufficient information to allow CAUL/CBUA directors to consider and prioritize opportunities for collaborative regional Open Access initiatives.
