The Development of Digital Preservation Best Practices in EPrints

Abstract

Working with the prototype EPrints digital preservation module, Memorial University Libraries is developing a set of best practices and processes associated with the long-term preservation of self-submitted digital content . Beginning with the output from DROID in the administrator's Format/Risks Editorial Tools we are identifying and addressing the issues and actions required to preserve various file types beginning with PDFs. The session will cover what we have discovered to date and will not necessarily describe a complete solution.
